FAQ

Have questions? You’re not alone.

Our FAQ covers the most common topics our clients ask about from document deadlines and filing logistics to using our secure Vault and scheduling appointments.

How much do tax returns cost with FAN TPG?

Tax returns start at $450 for simple cases, and FAN credits are offered to offset the cost (ranging from $350 to $1,500) depending on AUM with FAN Wealth Management.

Do I need to be a FAN Wealth Management client in order to get my taxes done with FAN TPG?

No – FAN TPG accepts non-wealth management clients on a case-by-case basis.

How do I submit tax documents?

We recommend uploading documents into the Vault of the FAN Plan client portal.

How do I know what tax projection documents to submit?

Clients will receive an email request at least two weeks before their tax projection meeting.  The email will ask for documents such as recent paystubs, pension statements, Social Security statements, and outside investment statements.

What if I need to have a return amended by FAN TPG that was prepared by a different tax professional?

FAN TPG will amend your tax returns subject to our normal fee structure.

Can I still do a tax projection meeting with FAN TPG even if I have my own tax professional preparing my returns?

Absolutely – any client with over $500,000 with FAN Wealth Management automatically qualifies for a yearly tax projection meeting, and we encourage all clients to take advantage.

Do I need to come into the office for tax meetings?

No, tax meetings can be done remotely or in person.

How do I know what tax return documents to submit?

Clients will receive tax organizers by the end of January.  The organizer will list what documents are needed based on the prior year return information.  New clients should refer to their prior year tax return to see what documents will be needed.

What happens if I receive a tax notice after my return has been filed?

Please reach out to your tax preparer so we can help resolve the issue.  Any amended returns that are required due to FAN TPG’s error(s) will be prepared at no additional cost.
